This tour combines the highlights of the 3-Day Southern Adventure with an immersive day on the breathtaking Dingle Peninsula—renowned for its dramatic scenery.
Your adventure begins in the west of Ireland, traveling through the enchanting region of Connemara, characterized by its majestic mountains, shimmering lakes, and captivating landscapes. Then, revel in the vibrant atmosphere of Galway, Ireland’s lively party capital, where you can unwind with a pint in traditional pubs or dance the night away.
As we journey down the west coast, prepare to be amazed by the iconic Cliffs of Moher, towering at 214 meters high. These cliffs, famously featured as the Cliffs of Insanity in The Princess Bride, offer breathtaking views of nature’s beauty. Our route takes us to County Kerry and the charming town of Killarney, where you will enjoy a magical overnight stay—an ideal opportunity to connect with the warm-hearted Irish locals.
Finally, set forth to the Dingle Peninsula, where rugged mountains, romantic sandy beaches, and sparkling cascades await. You’ll spend the night in the delightful village of Annascaul, completing your odyssey of discovery in one of Ireland’s most picturesque settings.
Our unforgettable journey begins as we depart from Dublin, heading west to explore the stunning Connemara region. Along the way, we’ll make a comfort stop for refreshments before arriving in the picturesque village of Cong (until April 1). This charming village, famous for its association with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man, is home to the luxurious Ashford Castle, a favored destination for the elite and a sought-after wedding venue for international stars. We’ll take time to visit Cong Abbey before continuing our exploration of the breathtaking wilderness of Connemara.
Experience the unique landscape of this Gaelic-speaking area, filled with beautiful lakes, valleys, and mountains—a region steeped in history, having been impacted by the Great Famine from 1845 to 1851. From April 1 onward, our visit will include the fascinating Glengowla Silver Mine, an impressive underground show mine. Above ground, witness sheepdog demonstrations and displays of traditional farming methods (entrance included).
We’ll arrive in Galway by mid-afternoon to maximize your experience in this cultural hub. Take the time to explore the Spanish Arch and wander the colorful Shop Street, known for its vibrant street performers, seafood eateries, and inviting Irish pubs featuring talented musicians. A night filled with authentic Irish entertainment is a highlight of Galway, renowned as the capital of traditional music.
Note: Please be aware that Glengowla is closed on Sundays; in such cases, time will be allocated elsewhere to ensure you have the best experience possible.
Today, we’ll journey down the breathtaking west coast of Ireland with the wild Atlantic Ocean by our side. Marvel at the stunning beaches and golden sands, and keep an eye out for dolphins and whales. Explore the unique lunar landscape of the Burren, a rare environment where Alpine, Arctic, and Mediterranean flowers coexist. Listen as your guide shares inspiring stories about our ancestors who survived the Potato Famine of 1845-49, which led over a million Irish to seek new lives across the globe, particularly in Britain, North America, and Australia.
We’ll stop in the village of Doolin for lunch—perhaps enjoying a pint—before heading to the nearby Cliffs of Moher. Towering over 700 feet, these cliffs are among the most spectacular in Europe and are home to an array of majestic birds, including puffins and gannets. Afterward, we’ll cross the River Shannon in historic Limerick and make our final stop of the day in the charming heritage town of Adare, known for its picturesque thatched cottages and often recognized as Ireland's tidiest town.
Tonight, we’ll spend the night in the rural Dingle Peninsula, in the village of Annascaul, famous for its connection to polar explorer Tom Crean and the renowned Randy Leprechaun pub.
Today, we embark on the renowned Dingle Peninsula. Our first stop is Inch, home to Ireland's longest beach, before heading to the charming fishing village of Dingle, known for its Gaelic-speaking community. This town, celebrated for its appearance in films such as Far and Away and Ryan's Daughter, boasts an impressive 52 pubs catering to its population of just 2,000.
No visit to Dingle would be complete without meeting its most famous resident, Fungi the Dolphin, with time allocated for a visit in the early afternoon. We’ll then enjoy a scenic drive around Slea Head, where you can take in breathtaking views of Sleeping Giant Island, the Blasket Islands, and ancient Beehive Huts dating back to 2000 B.C. Often regarded as the most beautiful peninsula in the world by various photography magazines, Slea Head features some of Ireland's most stunning beaches and is a highlight of the Wild Atlantic Way.
As we return to Dingle, there will be ample time to shop in traditional arts and crafts stores or relax in one of the many lively pubs, often featuring local musicians playing enchanting tunes. Tonight, we’ll stay in Killarney, Co. Kerry’s premier town, where you can mingle with locals and enjoy the genuine character of this lovely Irish county town. Pull up a stool by the fire or enjoy a leisurely post-dinner stroll in the nearby National Park.
Our final day begins with the option of a horse-drawn cart ride through Killarney National Park or an adventurous horseback ride for the more energetic. Afterward, we’ll regroup to cross the Cork and Kerry mountains, making our way to the world-famous Blarney Castle. You’ll have plenty of time (2 hours) to explore the castle and, if you wish, kiss the Blarney Stone to receive the legendary gift of eloquence, also known as the gift of the gab. The stunning gardens provide a lovely spot to relax, while those looking for last-minute souvenirs can explore the renowned Blarney Woolen Mills, the world’s largest Irish shop.
Following lunch, we’ll take a leisurely drive through the Golden Vale region, known for its exceptional agricultural land and some of the finest livestock in the world. Before we arrive in Dublin, we’ll stop at the Rock of Dunamase, a picturesque ruined castle perched on a hill overlooking the province of Leinster, offering fantastic photo opportunities and breathtaking vistas. We’ll arrive back in Dublin by late afternoon, allowing time for dinner reservations and evening entertainment.
